The “total” or “over/under” is the sum of all combined points scored in a game by both teams. For totals bets, a player can choose to wager on either the OVER or the UNDER.
- For a wager on the OVER, the bettor is predicting that the combined points scored by the two teams will sum to GREATER than the listed total.
- For a wager on the UNDER, the bettor is predicting that the combined points scored by the two teams will sum to LESS than the listed total.
- If the total of all points in the game sums exactly to the listed total, this game would constitute a push. In the event of a push, the original bet amount is returned to bettors on both sides of the game for a net even result.
- Note: Overtime periods, quarters or extra innings are factored into the final score when wagering on totals. Soccer wagers are typically settled in 90 minutes of play (or 80 minutes for Under 17 Soccer matches).
